What should I know for my first visit?

Please arrive 5-10 minutes earlier so that you can settle in and have a quick chat with the trainer.

The Pilates Stube has a mixed changing room, so you can get changed here if you like.

Your outfit should be comfortable. You don't need sneakers, you train in socks. Showering after the training is possible.

The official entrance to the Pilates Stube is behind the house. Just ring the bell at Pilates Stube and we will open the door for you.

What is the best way to get to the Pilates Stube?

The best way to get to us is by bike or public transport. Tram No. 4, 6 or 13, stop 'Quellenstrasse'.

There are blue zones, but not always free parking.

What should I do if I booked but cannot come?

For group trainings, you can cancel up to 24 hours in advance free of charge via the Eversports App. If you cancel less than 24 hours before the start of the training session, your entry fee will be credited retrospectively, provided the class is full, and someone else has booked your place. Otherwise, you will be charged for the lesson.

For personal or duet trainings, you can contact us directly at info@pilates-stube.ch or by WhatsApp on +41 77 522 73 64 to cancel the appointment. A cancellation period of 24 hours also applies here.

I have never done Pilates before. What is the best way to start?

For an optimal start, we recommend a trial lesson in the Pilates personal training program. We can give you an introduction, explain the method and equipment and address your individual needs and any complaints you may have. Please let us know your availability at info@pilates-stube.ch or +41 77 522 73 64.

Alternatively, you also have the option of starting directly in a small group. Simply choose a BASIC course or one of our workshops, either on the reformer or the mat. You can register directly via our online tool.

Do I have to bring my own Pilates equipment?

No, the Pilates Stube is a fully equipped studio and all equipment is included in the price.

I have canceled a training session in advance (more than 24 hours prior to the start). What happens to my entry?

If you cancel before the 24-hour deadline, the corresponding product (e.g. single entry) will be credited to your account in our booking tool, Eversport. You can then use this entry for a future lesson in the Pilates Stube.

For whom is Pilates suitable?

Pilates is suitable for everyone. It can be used in a variety of ways, whether for sporty people who want to improve their strength and flexibility or for those who want to specifically address back pain and postural problems.

During and after pregnancy, Pilates helps to strengthen the pelvic floor and helps you find your way back to your centre. Pilates is also a valuable method for strengthening the body and keeping it flexible in old age. In our Pilates Stube, we offer groups for every level so that everyone can find the proper challenge and support.

I am pregnant, when should I start with Prenatal Pilates?

You can join Prenatal Pilates at any time. From the 16th week at the latest, however, it is necessary to switch from regular Pilates to Prenatal Pilates, as certain exercises must be avoided at this point. Pilates during pregnancy promotes your body's mobility and strength and helps you cope with the physical changes in the best possible way.

What is the difference between Yoga and Pilates?

Yoga and Pilates differ in their origins, approaches, and focus. While yoga is an ancient Indian philosophy of life that focuses on the unity of body, mind, and soul, Pilates is an exercise program developed by Joseph Pilates that focuses on strengthening the core and improving posture.

However, both methods offer numerous health and spiritual benefits and can be practised according to individual needs and preferences.

When, after the birth, should I start Pilates postnatal training?

You can start our postnatal course after 6-8 weeks in the case of a vaginal birth or after approx. 8-10 weeks in the case of a caesarean section. This course was developed in collaboration with a pelvic floor physiotherapist and offers targeted exercises to strengthen and rehabilitate the body after pregnancy and birth.

It is important that your gynaecologist/doctor has given the green light for postnatal training. We offer postnatal training both as a closed group course (without your baby) and as personal training.

Is Pilates good for back pain?

Pilates is excellent for back pain. Through Pilates you not only strengthen the entire spine but also improve your mobility and posture. It relieves tension in the neck, shoulders, and back. Special attention is also paid to the pelvic floor and abdominal muscles. All of this helps to noticeably improve back pain.

What is the maximum number of participants in a lesson?

In the Pilates Stube, all training sessions occur in small groups, with a maximum of 8 people for mat training and 6 for reformer classes. This creates a pleasant atmosphere with enough space to cater to each participant's individual needs.

Is Pilates for beginners?

Pilates is definitely also suitable for beginners and you can start training at any time. In addition to our "basic" courses on the mat and with the equipment, we also offer regular workshops to make it easy to get started.

However, we do recommend a personal training session for an ideal entry and individual support. Here, we can introduce you to the method and equipment, explain it to you in detail, and address your specific needs and any complaints you may have. Let us know your availability at info@pilates-stube.ch or +41 77 522 73 64.

Is Pilates also for men?

Of course! Pilates was even invented by a man, Joseph Pilates, and was initially primarily intended for men. Many men already train in our studio, so you're certainly not the only one ;-)

For what age group is Pilates suitable for?

Pilates is suitable for people of all ages. The exercises can be adapted to suit the needs of each individual. It is important to choose the right class to ensure an enjoyable and supportive training experience. We recommend our Pilates personal training if you have any specific conditions, concerns or would like individual support.
